Announcing the August Version Update! (07/18/2014)

Get your hard hats on, for the next version update is scheduled to slam into Vana'diel in Mid-August!

This hard hitter features the next exciting chapter in the Seekers of Adoulin main scenario; fresh-off-the-grill alluvion skirmishes; a further foray into the Serpentine Labyrinth with a new area, Ra'Kaznar Inner Court; a command to change multiple pieces of equipment at once; and a treasure trove of new content and changes!

The Trust Initiative will also get splashed with a bit of elbow grease, including a system to enjoy one alter ego in two different ways, a new list specifically for Trust magic, and the addition of new alter egos gained through quest-related cutscenes!

If that's not enough, dig deep into the action with job adjustments, new job point categories, and more battle content adjustments that you can shake Amchuchu's wrench at!

All this and more will be hitting the servers in a few short weeks!

This, combined with the "Campaign Campaign" mentioning nice things for people who beat WoTG gives me high hopes for Lilisette quest.

Still a month off, wonder why they're announcing it now instead of in a few weeks. Nothing really said we haven't heard before, but good to see what we can only assume is Xol being brought into the story. My eyes playing tricks or does it looks like he's standing in Rala Waterways? I see what looks like a hole with water flowing to his left.

Wonder what they mean by the whole use trusts in two different ways bit. It's sorta obvious for Excenmille, summon his present or past version. But if that's all they mean with that teaser /lame. Thought it'd be an offensive/defensive or two separate behaviors you could choose or something. Then again, rereading it "enjoy one alter ego in two different ways" Boo ; ;

I always assumed the Gurren Lagann-esque, demon, Caturae was supposed to be Hades but you might be right about it being Xol. It does kinda look like Rala, there's a lot of places we can't get to yet there so makes sense.

As for the trusts it seems odd they'd make a whole "system" just for Excenmille instead of making past him a standalone trust similar to the two Shantottos. I guess we'll see what they actually mean by that in the next coming weeks.

maybe they will give each trusts a "GEO" like buff, so you can pick if you want the trust to actually fight or just stand there and give you a buff? (similar to sakura, star sybill etc.)

I think there was a post somewhere stating they were going to add different versions of NPCs, hence Excenmille, and they would function differently than the other, so you could choose which type to call. Could be an opening for them to add the Shadowreign versions of say, Volker, Shantotto, Zeid, etc, but how they would function differently, I don't know. Not to mention, it'd be nicer if they added other unique NPCs and not clones of ones we already have. Do that later.

It makes sense it'd be Xol, I mean, the Naakuals aren't exactly Care Bear looking friendly now.

hades has been red-and-black-with-a-skull-face in most of his appearances. so I think that's him. the other naakuals (and sajj'aka) are all biological, and xol should still be an amorph. he did lead the umbrils before August Adoulin came around.

I want them to diversify trusts. Raogrimm, Erpalacion, Rainmarde, Raubahn. Hades hopefully isn't that Harlequinn thing, looks more comical than serious as king of demons. If Xol is most likely a demon if it's the last Naakual, to counter Sajjaka which is a Dragon and technically while not a 'Naakual' is the elemental creature of light that protects the forest). If Xol is an amorph I can see him being a Botulus type creature(or maybe he's that Gallu in the pics)
